Đầu năm nay, chính phủ Anh thông báo kế hoạch xét hồ sơ xin định cư theo cách tính điểm, sẽ có hiệu lực từ 1/1/2021, dành cho các du học sinh tốt nghiệp đại học trở lên ở Anh, tìm được việc làm- có thể nộp hồ sơ xin định cư. Ngày 10/9/2020, Bộ Di trú Anh thông báo rằng kể từ 5/10/2020, sinh viên có nguyện vọng ở lại UK có thể bắt đầu nộp hồ sơ xin visa du học Anh. Họ cũng nói rằng, bộ phận chuyên về chính sách visa đang cập nhật những thay đổi về visa sinh viên và sẽ sớm cập nhật ra cộng đồng.
Trước mắt, chúng tôi muốn chia sẻ với các bạn thông tin hữu ích dành cho sinh viên khối EU muốn du học tại Anh từ ngày 1/1/2021, vui lòng tham khảo tại đây. Những điểm chính:
- Sinh viên thuộc khối EU (bao gồm cả khối EEA và Thụy Sỹ), cần xin visa du học Anh theo lộ trình mới, nếu bạn muốn du học tại Anh từ 1/1/2021;
- Chính phủ khẳng định lộ trình visa mới này sẽ được bắt đầu từ 5/10/2020; lộ trình visa Tier4 mới này tiện lợi hơn cho cả DHS và nhà trường;
- Yêu cầu chung cho ứng viên EU xin visa du học tương tự như visa Tier4;
- Phí visa là £348/ hồ sơ và sinh viên cần trả phí bảo hiếm sức khỏe;
- Chính phủ chưa có gợi ý nào về việc sẽ miễn giảm gì cho sinh viên có khóa học bắt đầu tháng 1/2020 nhưng chỉ có thể đến Anh sau ngày này- do dịch Covid;
- Sinh viên khối EU/EEA/Swiss, những bạn đang ở Anh trước ngày 1/1/2020 cần đăng kí xin vào chương trình EU ổn định (EU Settlement Scheme). Những bạn này không cần xin lại visa nếu hồ sơ xin EU Settlement Scheme thành công.

Earlier this year, UK Government set out plans for the UK’s new points-based immigration system which will come into force on 1 January 2021. The Home Office announced on 10 September that student visa applications via the new points-based system will open for applications on 5 October 2020. UAL compliance teams are currently working on updating our visa advice and guidance to explain these changes to students and we will be able to share more information with you very soon.
In the meantime, we wanted to share a useful resource for EU students on Study UK page. EU/EEA students will be affected by these immigration changes from January 2021. Please share this page with any EU/EEA students you may have who are thinking of moving to the UK for their studies from 1 January 2021 onwards. You can also download a government guide to the new application system for EU students here.
Key points:
- Students from EU countries (including EEA and Switzerland) will need to apply for a visa through the new Student Route if they are coming to the UK from 1 January 2021 onwards.
- The government has stated that the UK’s new Student Route will open to all students on 5 October 2020. It improves on the previous Tier 4 route, providing a more streamlined experience for both students and universities.
- The requirements for the visa on the part of the student are similar to that of Tier 4
- The visa application fee is £348 for students; students will also need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge, but the cost for a student next year has not yet been confirmed.
- The government has not published any policy suggesting that there will be exemptions for students who start courses before 1 January 2021 but need to come to the UK after this date due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
- EU/EEA/Swiss students who are already in the UK before 1 January 2021 should apply for the EU Settlement Scheme – they won’t need a visa as long as their application for the EU Settlement Scheme is successful.
