Accommodation arrangement

Finding the right accommodation is one of the most important steps after you have received your offer and decided on your study destination. A safe, comfortable place to live helps you settle in quickly, focus on your studies, and adjust more easily to a new environment. At Duc Anh EduConnect, we support you through each stage of the accommodation process, so everything is clearer, smoother, and more secure.

Accommodation requests (for dormitories or homestay) must be submitted to the accommodation provider or the school as soon as the student receives the official offer letter. However, the final confirmation will only be issued after the student has their flight ticket, arrival date, and check-in date.

We are able to arrange accommodation on time for around 90% of students. In rare cases where visas are granted too late, students may need to stay temporarily in a hotel for a few days (these costs are paid by the student).

Duc Anh EduConnect supports you with:

  • Notifying you of the ideal time to choose accommodation;
  • Guiding you in selecting suitable accommodation options;
  • Supporting you in registering for accommodation;
  • Guiding you through the contract process and deposit requirements.

Notes when staying in Homestay / Dormitory / With relatives or acquaintances / If you are under 18:

  • Housing contract: rights and responsibilities;
  • Rules and regulations of dormitories, host families, and shared houses;
  • Be friendly, honest, and communicate openly when necessary;
  • Maintain good social behavior and cooperation;
  • Fees not included in accommodation: phone bills, internet, personal items;
  • If the weather is extremely hot or cold and the home is not equipped accordingly, students may request permission to purchase necessary equipment (fan/heater).

1. Homestay: A homestay means living with a local host family (understood as citizens of the host country, regardless of ethnicity or skin color). For the first placement, you are not allowed to choose the nationality or background of the host family – this is required by anti-discrimination regulations. However, if you find the homestay unsuitable and have clear reasons and evidence, you may request a change:

  • Notify the host family / rental company / school 4 weeks in advance to receive your deposit refund;
  • Request the accommodation agency or school housing office to help you find a new placement (a placement fee may apply);
  • If you do not give notice within the required contract period, the deposit may be forfeited;
  • Any damages caused must be compensated according to the contract.

2. Dormitory (On-campus Housing / Student Residence): Students should book early as dormitory spots are limited. Some schools require students to live in dormitories for one year or even the entire study period. Dormitories usually provide furniture, shared kitchens, common areas, laundry rooms, cafeterias, and options for self-cooking or meal plans. Students can choose:

  • Single room (most expensive): private bathroom; shared or private kitchen;
  • Twin room (2 students): shared bathroom and shared kitchen;
  • 3 – 4 students per room (cheaper): shared bathroom and shared kitchen.

There will be:

  • A dormitory management team;
  • Dormitory rules that students must follow.

3. Shared Housing with other students (Share House) (For students over 18)

Duc Anh EduConnect does not arrange this type of housing because we cannot guarantee safety or sufficient background knowledge of the people involved. Students who choose this option will be fully responsible for their own arrangements.

4. Staying with Relatives (Under 18)

  • In some countries: You must submit a request to the school → approval is required before staying with relatives.
  • Australia:
    • Relatives must provide legal documentation such as a police check and valid clearance/authorization for caring for or working with children under 18 for all adult members of the household;
    • The home and the people living in it will be assessed to determine if they meet the required conditions and are suitable for the student. The student must pay the home-inspection arrangement fee and the interview fee for the relatives;
    • If you choose this service, you must pay the school for conducting the interview and home visit;
    • The school has full authority to decide whether a student is allowed to stay with relatives. No one has the right to interfere with this decision.
