APPLICATION TO STUDY IN NETHERLANDS
Monday - 15/12/2025
Applying to study in the Netherlands is not stressful, but it does require time and careful preparation. Applications to public universities generally take longer, and students should submit their documents from January or February for the September intake of the same year. Applications must include all required academic documents and English or Dutch language certificates, depending on the program. The processing time for public universities typically ranges from 12 to 20 weeks. Most public institutions only offer one intake per year-in September.
Applications to private institutions tend to be more flexible, as these schools often have two intakes per year, offer programs primarily in English, and have faster processing times-usually 8 to 12 weeks. Many private schools award degrees from other countries such as the UK, Australia, or the US.
Required documents for studying in the Netherlands: Depending on each student’s background, the institution may request additional documents. However, the following items are commonly required:
- Diploma and transcripts of the highest academic level completed
- Academic transcript of the program currently being pursued (if applicable)
- Passport or birth certificate
- English proficiency certificate (minimum IELTS 5.0)
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Two recommendation letters
- Personal statement
- Research proposal (for research-based Master’s or PhD programs)
- Published papers (for research-based Master’s or PhD programs)
- Completed application form
- Application fee
Notes
- If a student does not meet the English-language requirement for direct entry, they may take English courses in Vietnam or study English in the Netherlands before beginning high school or academic programs.
- Duc Anh EduConnect will assist students by checking with universities to determine which programs the student is eligible for, and by providing English training in Vietnam or arranging English courses in the Netherlands before academic studies begin.
- You may still apply even if you do not yet meet the English requirement or do not yet have your final transcripts or diploma. Simply submit the documents you currently have, and we will request a conditional offer letter to secure your place. Once you obtain your official diploma or provisional graduation certificate, transcripts, and valid English certificate, we will request an unconditional offer letter so that you can proceed with the remaining steps, including visa application, under our guidance and support.
