I. Steps to apply for an Ireland student visa

Step 1: Complete the Ireland student visa application form

Each individual applying for an Irish visa must complete their own online visa application form.

During the application process, you will need to prepare the following information:

  1. Passport details;
  2. Travel history and any previous visa refusals – if applicable;
  3. Criminal record history – if applicable;
  4. Contact details for accommodation in Ireland – if available;
  5. Your intended plan of stay in Ireland.

After completing the online form, you will be directed to the visa fee payment section:

Visa fee payment information:

  • Account number: 88001235111;
  • Beneficiary name: Embassy of Ireland Public;
  • Bank: Standard Chartered Bank (Vietnam);
  • Payment description: Full name of the applicant – Date of Birth – Application ID.

Visa fee: 100 EUR for multi-entry visa

Notes:

  • You may pause and save your online application and return to complete it within 30 days;
  • For technical issues, contact: avatsqueries@justice.ie.

Step 2: Prepare the visa documents

  • Print the online application form and sign it;
  • Gather all required visa documents.

All documents must be notarized (certified true copies) on A4 paper and accompanied by a notarized English translation.

DOCUMENT CHECKLIST

1. PERSONAL DOCUMENTS:

  1. 2 photos (45mm x 35mm), white background, taken within the last 6 months;
  2. Online visa application form completed and signed by the student;
  3. Original passport valid for at least 12 months with a minimum of 2 blank pages, plus a photocopy – the student must sign both the form and the original passport
    Birth certificate;
  4. Household registration book (Family registry);
  5. Personal medical/travel insurance – only required for the first year of study.

2. ACADEMIC DOCUMENTS:

  1. Most recent transcripts and diploma – submit both originals and copies;
  2. Offer Letter issued by the school the student has applied to;
  3. IELTS English certificate;
  4. Study plan/Statement of Purpose – must be signed by the student.

3. FINANCIAL DOCUMENTS:

  1. Financial proof: bank savings account (STK) and documents showing the family’s income sources;
  2. Proof of tuition fee payment.

*Additional documents required for students under 18 years old:

  • Birth certificate;
  • Passport or National ID card of the legal guardian or parents;
  • Confirmation of accommodation in Ireland.

Step 3: Schedule an appointment and submit your Ireland student visa application

After preparing all required documents, send the above application together with your ORIGINAL PASSPORT directly to the Embassy of Ireland:

II. Check the status of your Ireland student visa

You should submit your visa application at least 8 weeks before your intended date of arrival in Ireland to avoid delays or unforeseen issues.

You can check online to see whether your visa application has been processed. If your Ireland student visa is approved, the Embassy where you submitted your application will affix the visa sticker to your passport.

If your visa application is refused, you may appeal the decision within 2 months.
