POLAND STUDENT VISA POLICY

As a European country with a well-developed education system, affordable tuition fees, and many opportunities for cultural experiences, Poland attracts a large number of international students – including those from Vietnam. However, to study in Poland, international students must obtain a Poland Student Visa with the following important notes:

1. Key Information About the Poland Student Visa

  • Visa Type: The Embassy of Poland issues two main visa categories: Schengen Visa and National Visa. The Poland Student Visa is a National Visa (Type “D”), issued for foreigners who intend to study and reside in Poland for more than 90 days;
  • Visa Validity: Up to 1 year (91-365 days). Upon expiration, students may apply for a visa extension in Poland;
  • Visa Fee: 1,610,000 VND – payable upon visa application submission. This fee is non-refundable under all circumstances. The Embassy also provides additional services at the following fees (in VND):

2. Steps to Apply for a Poland Student Visa

Step 1: Apply for Admission to a Polish Educational Institution

Students must research suitable programs, fill out the application form, and submit required documents (passport, transcripts, diplomas, certificates, etc.). Upon acceptance, the university issues a Letter of Acceptance, including program details, fees, start date, end date, etc.

Step 2: Pay a Portion of the Tuition Fee

Students are usually required to pay ~20% of the tuition fee to confirm enrollment. After payment, the school issues an official acceptance letter confirming tuition receipt.

Step 3: Submit the Visa Application

Documents required for a National Visa D/10 – Study Purpose:

  • Completed visa application form + 2 photos;
  • Passport (valid at least 90 days beyond visa expiry);
  • Photocopies of all passport pages (except blank pages);
  • Health insurance with minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR (valid at least 3 months from entry date);
  • High school diploma (translated & notarized in English or Polish);
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV);
  • Letter confirming academic qualification recognition for university admission (issued by the university in cooperation with NAWA or the Ministry of Education);
  • Proof of tuition payment for the first academic year;
  • Language proficiency certificate (Polish or English);
  • Proof of financial capability (bank statements, tax declarations, proof of income, etc.);
  • Proof of accommodation in Poland.

Step 4: Visa Interview

Applicants attend an interview at the Embassy of Poland in Hanoi. The interview is conducted in English or Polish to verify the applicant’s study intentions and communication ability.

Step 5: Receive Visa Result

Processing typically takes 2-8 weeks. Results depend on the completeness of documents and interview performance.
