- Provide guidance on strengthening your scholarship application if needed;
- Collect, check, and help you complete your scholarship documents where required;
- Submit your scholarship applications on your behalf;
- Communicate with the institution regarding your scholarship application;
- Support you throughout the entire process until you receive the scholarship results;
- Advise you in finalizing the most appropriate scholarship option to accept.
Notes
- Limited scholarship quotas: Institutions always have a limited number of scholarships for each intake or academic year, so you should submit your application as early and as completely as possible.
- Recommended scholarship application timelines by country:
- Ideal: 9 – 12 months before the intended start date, especially for North America and Europe;
- Average: 6 – 8 months before the start date;
- Late: 3 – 5 months before the start date;
- Very late: 1 – 2 months before the start date.
- Distinguishing different types of financial awards:
- Scholarship: A merit-based award with limited availability, requiring competition to obtain;
- Grant: A fixed amount offered by the school/faculty; if you enroll in that program, you receive it automatically without additional application requirements;
- Bursary / Financial aid: Financial assistance for students with specific circumstances; you may need to provide explanations or evidence to qualify;
- How scholarships are assessed
No one can guarantee a scholarship because awards are evaluated based on fundamental criteria:
- Academic strength from highest to lower performance;
- Early applications are prioritized over late submissions, especially when candidates have similar academic results;
- Additional scholarship criteria specific to some programs.
The U.S. or some specialized scholarship programs may consider other priorities; however, the two factors above remain the most important.
You should also note that in the U.S., a scholarship may be provisionally offered before you receive an unconditional offer of admission. In most other countries, you can only officially apply for scholarships after obtaining an unconditional offer. However, it is still crucial to “get in line” early – once your documents are complete, your application will be reviewed faster and given higher priority.
- Reference: Student profile vs. competitive scholarship levels
- 100% tuition scholarship: Required to apply: GPA 96 – 98 – 100%; English: IELTS ≥ 7.0;
- 50% tuition scholarship: Required to apply: GPA ≥ 93%; English: IELTS ≥ 6.5;
- 30% tuition scholarship: Required to apply: GPA ≥ 85%; English: IELTS ≥ 6.5;
- 10 – 20% tuition scholarship: Required to apply: GPA ≥ 75%; English: IELTS ≥ 6.0
- Additional notes
- Students receiving partial scholarships must have sufficient funds to cover the remaining expenses (tuition and living costs).
- Some countries require comprehensive and extensive documentation for scholarship applications, while others consider mainly GPA and English proficiency.
- Duc Anh EduConnect will do our best to help you achieve the highest possible scholarship, but the final decision always rests with the institution.
