U.S. STUDENT VISA

Monday - 08/12/2025

1/ GENERAL INFORMATION

When applying to study in the United States, the biggest concern for most applicants is the student visa interview. In reality, the rate of failed interviews is quite high, and applicants may be rejected for countless reasons.

Below are the most essential points you need to know, and please note that strictly following these guidelines does not guarantee that you will be granted a U.S. student visa. The Embassy evaluates each visa application based on the applicant’s specific circumstances and study-abroad profile. However, the visa approval rate for students assisted by Duc Anh is nearly absolute, so you can place your trust in us.

Depending on the program you apply for, students will register for an F1 visa (long-term study visa) or a J1 visa (short-term exchange/cultural exchange visa). Both F1 and J1 visas are valid for only one year. F1 students must renew their visas whenever they expire, and J1 students must apply for a new visa if they wish to return to the U.S. for further study. All U.S. study-abroad applicants must attend an in-person visa interview.

Documents required for a U.S. student visa interview include:

  • Personal documents of the student;
  • Financial documents of parents/ guardians or the sponsor funding the student’s education;
  • Visa forms, admission letter, and proof of tuition payment.

Steps to apply for a U.S. student visa include:

  • Obtaining the I-20 or DS-2019;
  • Booking a visa interview appointment;
  • Paying the visa application fee;
  • Paying the SEVIS fee;
  • Attending the visa interview.
