APPLICATION TO STUDY IN JAPAN

Tuesday - 16/12/2025

In the process of studying abroad in Japan, preparing the application documents is one of the most critical steps. This stage plays a decisive role in determining whether you will be granted the opportunity to study in Japan.

The application preparation and submission process includes the following steps:

Step 1: Contact Duc Anh EduConnect to check admission requirements and determine whether you meet the eligibility criteria for enrollment.

Step 2: Submit your application through Duc Anh EduConnect. Required documents for studying in Japan include:

Personal documents:

  • Birth certificate;
  • Graduation certificate and academic transcripts of high school, vocational school, college, or university (if applicable) – original copies;
  • High school academic records or transcripts for vocational/college/university graduates – original copies;
  • National ID card (02 notarized copies);
  • Household registration book (notarized copy);
  • 15 passport-sized photos (3×4 cm);
  • Passport (if available);
  • Japanese language proficiency certificate (JLPT or NAT-TEST), if available;
  • Financial sponsor documents;
  • Financial sponsorship commitment letter (standard form) (This form is required only if the sponsor is not the applicant’s parent, sibling, or a family member listed in the household registration book);
  • Sponsor’s national ID card (02 notarized copies).

Note: All documents submitted to schools and the Immigration Bureau must be translated into Japanese (documents already issued bilingually in Vietnamese-English do not require translation).

Step 3: Duc Anh EduConnect will review the application, translate documents, complete application forms, and submit the dossier to the school and the Japanese Immigration Bureau.

During the evaluation of the Certificate of Eligibility (COE), the Japanese Immigration Bureau may contact the sponsor’s company, the sponsor, or the student directly to verify information. Therefore, applicants must ensure that all responses exactly match the information declared in the application. Any inconsistencies may result in rejection of the application, which could significantly affect future study plans in Japan.

Step 4: Receive the Letter of Acceptance (COA), Certificate of Eligibility (COE), and proceed with tuition payment. Typically, about two months after submission to the Immigration Bureau, applicants will receive the COE result. If approved, schools will issue the COE along with a tuition payment notice.

Step 5: Apply for a Japanese student visa (see detailed instructions on the Japan student visa application process).

Step 6: Travel to Japan and begin your studies.
