FRANCE STUDENT VISA

1. Visa application locations

Student visa applications in Vietnam are processed by either: The Embassy of France in Hanoi, or The Consulate General of France in Ho Chi Minh City.

All applicants for a “Long-Stay Study Visa” must complete the Campus France procedure before submitting their visa application to the Consular Section. Applications for long-stay visas without Campus France certification will not be accepted.

Campus France Interview Locations:

  • Campus France Hanoi (French Institute – L’Espace): 15 Thien Quang, Hanoi 
  • Campus France Ho Chi Minh City (IDECAF – Institute of Cultural Exchange with France): 31 Thai Lan Lung Street, Ho Chi Minh City

Visa application submission locations:

  • Embassy of France in Hanoi: 57 Tran Hung Dao street, Hanoi;
  • Consulate General of France in Ho Chi Minh City: 27 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street, Ho Chi Minh City. 

2. Required Documents for the Student Visa

  • Long-Stay Student Visa – Required Documents: Passport, household registration book; 1 portrait photo; Campus France interview certificate; Provisional enrollment certificate; Proof of financial resources; Proof of accommodation; All documents must include certified translations;
  • Long-Stay Visa for Minor Students (under 18 at the time of departure): Same documents as above, plus: Proof of insurance and Confirmation of DTP vaccination;
  • Long-Stay Visa Application Form: Must be completed clearly, signed, and dated;
  • OFII Form (French Immigration and Integration Office): Applicants must complete the top section titled “RUBRIQUES A REMPLIR LORS DE LA DEMANDE DE VISA”. The Consular Section completes the middle section (“CADRE RÉSERVÉ AU CONSULAT”) and returns the form with the passport. This form must be brought to France upon arrival.

Additional supporting documents (if applicable):

  • Parental authorization
  • Guarantee letter
  • Financial sponsorship letter

3. Visa Application Fee

The fee is the VND equivalent of 50 EUR, based on the exchange rate posted at the Embassy or Consulate on the submission day. Applicants must bring the exact amount, as no change is provided.

Note: Visa fees are non-refundable in cases of refusal. The Consular Section is not required to provide an explanation for denied student visas.

Important Notes: Applying for a French student visa can be complicated, especially for first-time applicants. Missing documents or even small errors may delay your application or cause you to lose your study opportunity.
