Một thông kê mới chỉ ra rằng một số sinh viên tốt nghiệp một số ngành được trả lương cao hơn một số ngành khác- xét trên các số liệu thu thập được. Theo số liệu của một trung tâm nghiên cứu của Mỹ, trung tâm nghiên cứu của trường đại học Georgetown về Giáo dục và lực lượng lao động, báo cáo: “ Điều này có giá trị như thế nào: gía trị kinh tế của các ngành học”, ra ngày 24/ 5. Bài nghiên cứu đã xem xét 171 ngành học khác nhau và nhận thấy rằng, những ngành học khác nhau tiềm tàng mức thu nhập khác nhau và mức khác nhau nhiều nhất lên đến trên 300%. TIME đã liệt kê 10 ngành có thu nhập cao nhất và 10 ngành có thu nhập hẻo nhất (the 10 highest- and the 10 lowest-earning majors)
