Đại học Bath Spa tập trung chủ yếu vào các môn nghệ thuật và nhân văn, được thành lập vào năm 1852 trước khi chính thức trở thành trường đại học vào năm 2005. Bath Spa có một số cơ sở trong và xung quanh thành phố với cơ sở chính là Công viên Newton được hoàn thành vào năm 2014, là một trong những nơi có cơ sở hạ tầng tốt nhất phục vụ cho việc giảng dạy các môn học liên quan đến truyền thông kỹ thuật số tại Vương quốc Anh.
Đại học Bath Spa chỉ có hơn 7.500 sinh viên đến từ hơn 40 quốc gia khác nhau. Với quy mô nhỏ này, Bath Spa cho sinh viên cảm giác gần gũi và thân mật, tập trung mạnh vào giảng dạy và phúc lợi sinh viên. Sự hài lòng của sinh viên hiện là 81% trên tất cả các môn học và việc giảng dạy được đánh giá tích cực là 90%.
Đại học Bath Spa gần đây đã được vinh danh là một trong sáu trường đại học sáng tạo hàng đầu ở Vương quốc Anh bởi “Which? University” Guide với các hoạt động đóng vai trò chủ yếu trong đời sống đại học như âm nhạc, kịch sân khấu, khiêu vũ, hợp xướng và nghệ thuật thị giác.
