Phân biệt visa (giấy thông hành) và study permit (giấy phép du học)

Phân biệt visa & study permit:
- VISA là giấy thông hành cho phép người được cấp vào Canada theo đúng thời gian hiệu lực ghi rõ trên visa. (ví dụ Visa cấp từ 1 tháng 9 đến 30 tháng 6 thì trong khoảng thời gian này HS vào Canada lúc nào cũng được). Thời hạn visa không phải là thời hạn được ở lại Canada mà chỉ là thời hạn để vào Canada mà thôi, thời hạn này tùy vào chương trình học, có thể từ 1- 4 năm, được ra vào 1 lần hoặc nhiều lần, do LSQ Canada cấp và cần được gia hạn ngoài biên giới Canada nếu hết hạn.
- STUDY PERMIT là Giấy cho phép người được cấp có quyền ở lại Canada hợp pháp với mục đích rõ ràng là học tập. Giấy này do Hải quan Canada tại sân bay Canada cấp, thời hạn căn cứ theo thời gian trên thư nhập học của trường, gia hạn tại Canada khi chuẩn bị hết hạn. Để được cấp study permit, khi đến sân bay của Canada, DHS phải vào phòng hải quan để trình các giấy tờ: thư nhập học, Visa, Bảng điểm, học bạ, bằng cấp, Giấy tờ tùy thân, Thư vủa LSQ gửi cho hải quan Canada và có thể phải trả lời một vài câu hỏi liên quan.
