ONSHORE SPECIAL ADMISSIONS PROCESS (OSAP)
The Onshore Special Admissions Process (OSAP) aims to speed up the postgraduate course application process for the onshore international students who are studying in their last semester of the bachelor degree in an Australian university. The process only applies to onshore international students.
Eligibilities
Onshore international students, who have applied for a postgraduate coursework program at the University of Sydney, can request to participate in the Onshore Special Admissions Process (OSAP).
In order to be eligible for admission via the Onshore Special Admissions Process:
- The applicant must be an international student in Australia (onshore) and is studying their final semester of their bachelor
- The applicant has applied for one of the postgraduate coursework programs of the University of
- The only condition remaining must be the submission of final transcript with evidence of completion. There must be no other conditions, such as English or
- The applicant has achieved an excellent penultimate semester GPA, which is at least 5% higher than the GPA required for students who have completed the bachelor degree when applying.
Onshore Special Admissions Process (OSAP) is available for both Semester One and Semester Two intakes (where applicable). The eligible applicant will receive an unconditional offer for admissions into the course.
Courses NOT participating in the Onshore Special Admissions Process
Sydney Medical School will NOT be making offers to the following courses via the SAP:
- Graduate Diploma in Bioethics; Master of Bioethics
- Graduate Diploma in Public Health (Menzies School)
- Master of Medicine (Reproductive Health Sciences and Human Genetics)
- Master of Philosophy
- Master Qualitative Health Research
- Master of Science in Medicine ( Reproductive Health Sciences and Human Genetics)
- Master of Surgery
- Doctor of Medicine
- Doctor of Dental Medicine
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
- Master of Clinical Psychology
- Master of Clinical Psychology and PhD
- Master of Nutrition and Dietetics
- Master of Science in Coaching Psychology
- Graduate Diploma in Coaching Psychology
- Graduate Certificate in Coaching Psychology
All other courses under Sydney Medical School will participate in the Special Admissions Process.
Step by Step Process
Agents and applicants must send their request to the Admissions teams. Applicants should be prepared to provide original documents or original certified copies of supporting documents upon request at any time.
- Send your request to participate in the Onshore Special Admissions Process (OSAP) to admissions@sydney.edu.au . Please include “Onshore Special Admissions Process + 9 digit student’s ID number + the name of the Postgraduate Course” in the subject line.
- Attach the following documents which must also be uploaded to the application via the agent/student portal.
- a copy of the official transcript up until the second last semester, before the completion of the degree (i.e. one (1) semester left)
- A copy of biographical or personal details page of your passport
- The OSAP will be processed when the official result of the penultimate semester is
- The request must be received before the commencement of each
Agent or Applicant Responsibilities
The Agent or applicant must notify the University of Sydney in writing of their intention to apply for the Onshore Special Admissions Process. Requests must be received by the Admissions Office before the first date of the commencement of the semester.
Deadline for request of your participation in OSAP
The request will be processed when the official result of the penultimate semester is provided. The last day to request of your participation in
- Semester Two 2018, no later than Friday, 20 July 2018
- Semester One 2019, no later than Friday, 15 February 2019
- Semester Two 2019, no later than Friday, 26 July 2019
Deadline for submission of the final official transcript and bachelor degree award
- Semester Two 2018, no later than Friday, 3 August 2018
- Semester One 2019, no later than Friday, 1 March 2019
- Semester Two 2019, no later than Friday, 9 August 2019
Responsibilities of the University
The University of Sydney may withdraw an offer of admission and cancel the electronic confirmation of enrolment (eCoE) of any student who fails to meet the entry requirements of their applied course or does not provide their final transcript and testamur by the date listed.
