9. Study pathways for Vietnamese students:
- After completing Year 11, students may choose to study:
- Foundation programme (30 / 40 / 60 weeks) + Year 1 of Bachelor’s degree.
- After completing Year 12, students may choose to study:
- Diploma (1 year) + Year 2 of Bachelor’s degree;
- Direct entry to Bachelor’s degree (from Year 1).
- After completing a Bachelor’s degree, students may progress to:
- Master’s degree or Doctoral (PhD) programmes.
- After completing a Master’s degree, students may progress to:
- Doctoral (PhD) programmes.
10. Entry requirements:

- English for Academic Purposes (EAP): IELTS 4.5 (no band below 4.0).
- Foundation programmes:
- Standard (40 weeks): Completion of Year 11, GPA ≥ 7.5, IELTS ≥ 5.5 (no band below 5.0);
- Advanced (30 weeks): Completion of Year 11, GPA ≥ 8.0, IELTS ≥ 5.5 (no band below 5.5);
- Extended (60 weeks): Completion of Year 11, GPA ≥ 7.0, IELTS ≥ 5.0 (no band below 5.0).
- Diploma: Completion of Year 12, GPA ≥ 7.5, IELTS 6.0 (no band below 5.5).
- Bachelor’s degree: For students completing Year 12 in Vietnam with excellent academic performance from recognised gifted high schools (see the list of recognised schools), or international schools (IB, A Levels, AP, WACE); Or students currently studying at a Vietnamese university applying for credit transfer; Or students who have completed a Foundation programme. IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0).
- Master’s degree: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree, IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0). Some programmes may require higher English scores.
- Doctoral (PhD) programmes: Completion of a Master’s degree or an Honours Bachelor’s degree; Relevant research experience; IELTS ≥ 7.0 (no band below 7.0).
11. Intakes:
- Foundation and Diploma: January, April, July, October;
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD: February, July.

General:
- Highest academic qualification certificate;
- Academic transcripts of the most recent two years;
- English language certificate (if available);
- Passport (photo and signature page), if available;
- Academic achievements and extracurricular records (for scholarship consideration).
For Master’s programmes – additional:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
For PhD / Research Master’s programmes – additional:
- Two academic reference letters;
- Research proposal;
- Published research papers (if any).

- Foundation programmes: AUD 25,500 – 35,274 per programme;
- Diploma: AUD 30,000 – 31,340 per programme;
- Bachelor’s degree: AUD 31,700 – 41,200 per year;
- Postgraduate (Coursework): AUD 12,800 – 79,700 per year;
- Postgraduate (Research): AUD 32,200 – 61,500 per year.

- For Bachelor’s programmes: Scholarships up to AUD 12,000 per year for 3–4 years (total up to AUD 36,000 – 48,000) for all undergraduate majors at UWA.
Excluding Bachelor’s programmes with Direct Pathways offers into postgraduate degrees such as Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Dental Medicine, and Master of Pharmacy.
- UWA International Student Award: Tuition fee support of AUD 5,000 per year, applicable for the full duration of Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes (up to AUD 20,000 over four years), subject to meeting entry requirements.
- UWA College Scholarships: Scholarships of up to 25% tuition fee for students enrolling in Foundation or Diploma programmes.
