Từ đầu năm 2017, tất cả các sinh viên mới của ASG có nguyện vọng nộp đơn xin học bổng hay giải thưởng gây quỹ cho bậc giáo dục trung học Mỹ đều phải trải qua vòng 1 của kì thi Học bổng ưu tú. Học bổng và giải thưởng này sẽ được quyết định dựa trên điểm thi của thí sinh.

American Scholar Group – Merit Scholarship Test Announcement
Round 1 Examination
Up to 2 GOLD Merit Scholarships will be awarded to students who proceed to Round 2. These Merit Scholarships will sponsor approximately 50% of the recipient(s) tuition and room & board fees in the 2017 – 2018 academic year and will be renewable every following year as long as the student maintains a 3.5 Grade Point Average (GPA).
GOLD Merit Scholarships Qualification Conditions
To qualify for Round 2, candidates must (1) achieve a Round 1 score of 70% or higher and (2) submit a USD 5,000 deposit to secure their admission for the 2017 – 2018 academic year. This deposit is non-refundable except in cases where a student fails his/her visa interview. In such scenarios, a USD 250 examination fee in addition to any bank transfer charges will be deducted from the deposit upon refund.
Merit Scholarship Testing & Scoring Format
Examinations have been designed for 2 age groups: Students applying for 9th – 10th grade and students applying for 11th and 12th grade.In Round 1, candidates will take a 60-minute multiple choice examination online. There will be a mathematics and reading section, each lasting 30 mins. Final scores will be determined by the average score of both sections.
In Round 2: Candidates will take a paper-based 90-minute short-answer and essay examination. Candidates will also sit for 15-minute finalist interviews. All questions in Round 2 will test the candidate’s reading, writing and communication skills as well as their general knowledge of current events (paper-based and interview sections). Scholarship winners will be selected based on the quality and creativity of verbal and written responses.
Registration Process
1. Candidates interested in applying for and taking the examinations must sign up online via http://www.americanscholargroup.com/merit-scholarship-registration/. Representatives of students may register on a student’s behalf.
Please note: To complete registration, each candidate must upload a scanned copy of their ID. Acceptable IDs include:
– Passport ID page
– School issued student ID card
– Government issued student ID card
2. After registering online, a representative from the ASG Vietnam office will contact the candidate to schedule his/her test date and site. Please note: Students must complete online registration at least 72 hours prior to their preferred test date and site.
3. Once test scheduling is completed, the candidate will be given an examination ID to login on the day of his/her scheduled test at the test site

Round 1: Multiple Choice Examination
Exam Duration: 60 Minutes
Dates: February 3rd – April 30th 2017
Round 2: Short-Answer, Essay Examination & Finalist Interviews
Exam Duration: 90 Minutes
Interview Rounds: 15 Minutes
Dates: May 1st – May 20th, 2017
Scholarship Announcement
Date: May 31st, 2016
The award winners will be announced on May 31st at 5:00pm EST via the official ASG website.
